Accessibility Statement

My Commitment

Accessibility is at the heart of my work, and this website is no exception. I aim for everyone to be able to read, navigate, and use this site, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, and voice control.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. Known limitations are listed below.

Assessment Approach

This website was assessed through self-evaluation by Caitlin Bartholic, a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) and DHS Trusted Tester for Section 508. Testing includes:

  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • VoiceOver screen reader on macOS
  • ANDI (Accessible Name & Description Inspector)
  • WebAIM Color Contrast Bookmarklet
  • Browser zoom up to 400% and text spacing adjustments
  • ARC Toolkit

Known Limitations

Despite my best efforts, some content may have limitations. Please contact me if you encounter an issue not listed here.

  • YouTube video player: embedded videos use YouTube’s player, which I don’t control. Videos include captions, and transcripts are provided where available.
  • Embedded eLearning projects: projects are hosted on external platforms and may have their own limitations. Each embedded project includes a link to open it in a new tab.
  • Downloadable documents: I check PDFs and Word documents for accessibility before posting. If you need a document in another format, or find an issue with a current document, please contact me.
