About
My path into instructional design and accessibility was a natural evolution of my work, born out of a desire to solve problems and help people. When I noticed training gaps at my workplace, I couldn’t help but step in to create training sessions, video tutorials, and job aids that made a real difference in staff workflows. What started as practical problem-solving quickly became something I loved doing.
As my work grew, so did my focus on accessibility. I realized that a learning experience isn’t truly effective unless everyone can use it. Today, accessibility is built into everything I do: designing inclusive learning from the start, auditing websites, documents, and courses against WCAG, and coaching educators and teams to create accessible content themselves. I’m a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) and a DHS Trusted Tester for Section 508, and I bring that expertise to every project.
I’ve always enjoyed puzzles and problem-solving, and I’ve long been the “go-to” person on staff for planning, editing, and proofreading. I tend to catch problems others might not notice until after rollout, including barriers that keep some people from using content at all. I love connecting with diverse learners, and I adapt quickly to new tools. I’m usually the first on staff to adopt them and train others.
A turning point came after I facilitated a new website rollout and trained staff when a colleague told me, “This was great. Can you just do this full time?” That moment was a huge affirmation, and it encouraged me to bring my passion for accessible, human-centered design to clients beyond my primary role. I approach every project with a growth mindset, eager to take on new challenges and find thoughtful, inclusive solutions.
